Tastes and philosophy
When I decided to get my own setup to get into music, I decided to stick exclusively to analog sound dedicated modules to get maximum flexibility and to get that pure original and smooth sound which no sampler can reproduce...( sorry sample lovers but that's my opinion....). I spend most of my time experimenting to get the best out of those fantastic machines, patching in different sockets sources and CV's to see what happens...
I rely on digital technology only for convenience when it comes to sequencing and recording. Direct to disc is the alternative if you don't want to get bogged down in tape recorder, scissors and tape.... My scope is working on sound creation and textures, NOT on post-production !!!
Ocasionally I have some time left to do some music but I'm not really working on doing a dance-floor hit or the kind. This is a hobby and these machines are the mean I have to achieve weird and powerful sounds. I personally own all the machines I am depicting here and all in-depth reviews are features and facts, not guesses I've made on gear owning to a guy who knew the guy that owned the synth....
I'm depicting the units I like as well as the ones I sold back due to poor sound, lack of reliability or flaws !!! I'm stuffed to find sites where studio setups are always perfect. This synth should aware beginners of the drawbacks of some units and comfort them on the quality of others. Any way, I'm not linked to any manufacturer I'm listing except VBSystems which is.... myself. This is MY opinion, and any other comments and discussion topics is welcome. If you want more info on these machines, tips and tricks or whatever, please mail-me, I would be happy to help anyone on the net.
